Description

Hi,

I'm trying to download the MotorControl22.rxe with the "NeXTExplorer.exe" tool to my NXT and always get an error "Download failed". I have also tried the "TransferMotorControlBinaryToNXT.bat" and this doesn't work eigther. What else can I do?

Regards Lindi

Dear Lindi,

sorry for the late reply. I assume you do have a working USB or Bluetooth connection to your NXT, and the NeXTExplorer does show you a file listing?

The MotorControl22.rxe file is fairly big in NXT terms, and you need the free space unfragmented. Try to delete (and backup first) all other rxe programs on your NXT, or use the Defragment-Utility from NeXTExplorer.

I've head a download failure of this kind myself recently. Using Windows 7 64bit and the libusb-win32 driver, the NXT was working correctly using USB, but the TransferMotorControlBinaryToNXT.bat utility didn't work.

I'm afraid that NeXTTool might not be working properly with libusb, and instead requires the Fantom driver?

Could someone with another machine please confirm this:

  • TransferMotorControlBinaryToNXT.bat works on Windows 64bit with installed libusb driver (using NexTTool)

Once this test was successful, ticket can be closed. Regards, Linus

Replying to behrens:

Has the problem been solved?

Yes the problem was solved by updating the Firmware on the NXT. Therefore I had to download the Mindstorms 2.0 Software. Then I could transfer the MotorControl22.rxe file.
