Dear Sue!

Right now, this functionality is not implemented in our MATLAB toolbox. The LEGO NXT Bluetooth API ("Direct Commands") does support functions to do this, however. You would have to implement those commands on your own, using the helper functions provided by our toolbox. You can find documentation and syntax about in the Lego NXT BDK (Bluetooth Developer Kit), Direct Commands Appendix.

I'd like to know what exactly you plan to do with this functionality. There are tools (command line and GUI) which CAN retrieve textfiles from the NXT! There are languages running on a PC which have the commands you need already implemented — you could interface with them to Matlab.

And last not least you may not need to use text files — maybe you can transfer string information directly? There are ways to do it, and they may be easier than what you describe…

Best regards,

Linus
