Description

I am having a problem with using the next explorer to download the MotorControl22.rxe file to the nxt. The USB connection works and I seem to be able to download any file not having the extension .rxe. For MotorControll?22.rxe I always get the error 'download failed'.

Do you have any idea why and what I can do to get around this problem?

I could download the MotorControll?22.rxe file after renaming it (removing the .rxe extension) but I could not rename it back to MotorControll?22.rxe on the nxt after the download…

Thanks for your help!

  • What program do you use to download the file to your NXT?
  • Is there any more information apart from "download failed"?
  • In your post you mention the incorrect filename MotorControll22.rxe, please try again with the correct filename MotorControl22.rxe.
    • There is a certain maximum filename lengt for files on the NXT, maybe you've hit this limitation.
  • You can use the provided batch-files (Windows) or shell-scripts (Linux) to download this file to your NXT easily, please see the installation guide and the /tools/MotorControl folder of your toolbox directory.

Thanks a lot! The instructions in the readme file with running the batch files worked. For some reason the NeXTExplorer did not… Maybe the firmware was not up to date. Also, I had to run FlashNXTwithFirmware1.29 twice. Anyways - it works now. Thanks!
